Proper preparation is what separates a wrap that lasts from one that fails early. Here’s what we recommend before your install date so you get the best results and we can work efficiently.
Wash thoroughly. Bring your vehicle in clean. We’ll do a final decontamination and detail prep, but mud, tar, and heavy grime should be removed beforehand. Use a car wash or hand wash. Avoid automatic brushes that can scratch the paint. If you’ve driven on gravel or construction zones, consider a clay bar or decontamination wash so we’re not wrapping over embedded contaminants.
Fix paint issues. Vinyl adheres to the current surface. Loose paint, rust, or major damage should be addressed first; we can’t wrap over flaking or corroded areas. Small chips and scratches are usually fine; we can work over them, but the finish will follow the surface, so you may see a slight texture. If you’re unsure, send photos or bring the vehicle by for a quick assessment.
Remove easy obstacles. If you can remove trim, badges, or accessories without damage, it helps. We can work around them, but fewer obstacles mean cleaner edges and a faster install. Don’t force anything. If it doesn’t come off easily, we’ll handle it.
Plan for time. A full wrap takes several days. Plan to leave the vehicle with us so we’re not rushing. Rushing is the enemy of a flawless wrap; we’d rather take the time to do it right.
